Michelle Gilbert, LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker
About
I love what I do. What I do is listen to people who struggle with issues many people struggle with but won't ask for help. I want to help you get started helping yourself or get you back on track. I know this isn't an easy journey but it isn't impossible when you don't do it alone.
I've been a Clinical Social Worker since 2005 and licensed since 2015. I spent many years evaluating and diagnosing which gives me insight into sepcific symptoms and the ability to know what to look for in people. I also have the ability to look beyond someone's symptoms and see them as a whole person, not just their diagnosis.
I received my MSW from Fordham University, NY in 2005, with a specilization in working with children and their families

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will have a phone consultation to inquire what the client is looking for. If the client would like to continue further, I set up an appointment to do an assessment, this could take one or two sessions. Once that is completed, I make recommendations. The client makes a decision to continue the therapeutic relationship
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly rate is $115. I do work with certain insurances, including certain NV state Medicaids and adhere to their rates.
How did you get started in this business?
Being a therapist has been my passion since I began going to college. I always found the value in talk therapy and have had a desire to help people in this way. I did what was necessary and the best route I felt to take to accomplish this goal by becomming an LCSW.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all age groups and have worked with people with all diagnoses. I like working with people who have experienced trauma, grief, loss, depression. I also work with people who have been diagnosed or think they may have Major depressive disorder, PTSD or addiction issues, particularly not substance related
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you want help and can trust someone enough to open up to them. There is plenty of good people that can help you but you have to be willing to be honest with yourself and them. Also, if they're not the right fit, it is okay to tell them, everyone is not for everybody. You getting better is the most important objective.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
They should ask themselves what they're trying to get from therapy, if they don't know they can ask for help.
They should ask the person what to expect and see if it lines up with what their own expectations are
They should ask what style of therapies do they use
