About
My MA in counseling was earned from Liberty University. Counseling has been my passion for the last 20 years. I truly believe that even though life has its challenges, individuals and couples can master and persevere when they are willing to put in the effort and make a committment to reach their own identified goals. I am here to go on the journey with my clients, stimulating hope and providing support. I offer effective strategies and a listening ear. Clients will evolve both cognitively and spiritually and will with consistent practice be able to maintain growth long after the counseling has ended.
I enjoy partnering with individuals, couples and women. The counseling relationship is unique:The environment is safe, confidential and non-judgmental. The sole purpose of the relationship is to clarify goals and engage in growth and development with professional support. The fact that I am a Board Certified Coach allows me to pull those skills out of my bag in the counseling office as appropriate to the needs of the client.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would like to have a telephone conversation with you prior to our scheduling an appointment. I also would like to get your email address for you to further find out about Oasis Christian Counseling Services. During the process, I give homework. Just as you take a medication prescribed by an MD., it is most beneficial for you to employ the prescription addressed in therapy, outside of therapy in your ordinary life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Liberty University where I was trained in Christian Counseling. I have earned certifications in women's issues, and stress management. I have studied grief counseling extensively. I am a seasoned PrePare Enrich provider for marriages and pre-marital issues. I am also a Board Certified Coach and use those skills and strategies to help individuals reach their goals. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was an educator for 31 years. My training in education enhances my counseling abilities. Each year I renew my training with MIlitary One Source in order to provide appropraite counseling to military personnel and their families. I am also identified as a Military Famiy Life Counselor. I am Licensed as a Professional Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The initial counseling assessment fee is $130.00. Subsequent sessions are $110.00.
How did you get started in this business?
During my years in education, I was aware that many of the students needed a clear goal, a plan of action, and support along the way. I knew that one day my education career would end and I would need a place to be of service--to help individuals address life issues and reach their goals. I began my Masters' training during the last years of my education service.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with a variety of individuals, women, men, and couples. I work with those who are grieving because they have lost a loved one; I work with women who are interested in creating their vision for the future; I work with special populations, such as problem gamblers, and military individuals and I work with couples through Military One Source. I enjoy working with couples who are preparing for marriage and those strengthening their marriages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have held several Women's Conferences where women were brought together to focus on issues that are of particular interest for women. Additionally, I have published two books "How Do I Get There from Here" and "Claiming Your divine Calling". I am very proud of each publication as I strongly believe that the content is potent.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
First of all, find a professional you feel comfortable with. You can do this by reviewing their website and other media. Have a phone conversation with them where you ask pertinent questions about theories they utilize and have them explain that theory to you. Does it feel like a good fit?
Follow-through with the process, especially that first appointment, even if you begin to feel better. Stick with the process! Always feel free to ask questions.
