Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I understand the difficulty in finding a therapist that fits your needs and that you feel comfortable with. For this reason, clients who inquire receive a compliementary session with me where I take time to learn about you and your interest in counseling. This is important to determine if we can be a good fit for each other. Upon signing on with The Client Journey, clients receive preliminary information about the counseling process; expectations, confidentiality, authenticity, assessments, authenticity & transparency, and more. My counseling process is rooted in understanding clients past, so I can gain a better understanding of how their past affects their present. I couple Psychoanalysis with a Cognitive Behavioral Approach and Wellness to better understand clients thoughts processes, and to discuss and navigate through the nine stages of wellness.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Masters in Education from North Carolina State University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA). I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). And, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual (CCTS-I).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do have set pricing, but I love to set up a consultation with potential clients to better understand their needs and how I can best assist them. The best thing to do is to sign up on my calendar (https://calendly.com/theclientjourneypllc) so we can a fruitful conversation about presenting problems and needs.
How did you get started in this business?
2013 was the first time that I became aware of the gift I have of helping individuals effectively navigate and overcome their issues. I fell in like (and then later love) with listening to people's problems, and creating solutions for their betterment and overall health. The interesting thing is that I did not formally take the leap to get educated in counseling until 2017. While I enjoyed counseling, I wasn't confident to go towards my passion. I spent years jumping in and out of spaces not meant for me until one day when I was fed up with my current situation that I decided to take the leap, and I haven't looked back since. Being a therapist has been a great ride thus far, and I'm only getting started! I look forward to seeing the vast amount of clients I'm able to effectively assist througout the coming years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients experiencing childhood trauma, work place trauma, extreme depression/anxiety, grief, relationship issues, life transitions, self esteem issues, extreme stress, and more
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It's important for potential clients to do their due diligence to research multiple pros in the same area to try to find the best fit. I recommend having a couple consultations with clinicians so you can get a feel for their process prior to hiring them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
A few questions to consider:
-What is your problem(s)
-How long has your problem(s) been occurring?
-What happened recently that caused the issue to be a problem for you TODAY?
-How committed are you to the counseling process?
-What do you hope to accomplish from counseling?
