About

I run a solo practice which offers therapy and counseling with wellness and health in mind and deep healing through relationships and embrace of life's challenges. Clients, not therapists, are the expert in their lives. My experience includes work with individuals struggling with addictions, relationships, loss, depression, anxiety and trauma.

I like the people with whom I work and to help them become better experts in their lives. Deep satisfaction and wisdom arise as people find the answers within themselves. This includes offering companionship and fellowship as clients achieve peace of mind, direction and self-compassion.

I have a particular interest in working with men. Years of experience has shown me how much they value for self-improvement and learning. They have an intense desire for competency in their work and relationships. They care deeply for their kids, partner, co-workers and/or family members.

For the past 5 years, working as a therapist at a non-profit clinic provided ongoing and challenging encounters with individuals of many cultural backgrounds.  It left me with profound respect, connection and learning from those who don't come from the same places I do.

Our practice helps clients submit invoices to their insurance companies.  Standard fees are 140 per hour with a generous sliding fee scale.  Those who want services will be accommodated to the best of their and mine abilities.

My personal interest in counseling started with a keen interest in literature.  I have always been fascinated by the human condition.  Therapy provides only one metaphor for helping people heal and improve their lives.  As a member of 12 step fellowships for over 25 years and having worked through my own life difficulties, I have a great appreciation for people who feel pushed to the margins or pushed to their limits.

Recently, as a therapist in a domestic abuse program, many clients, whom were men, came to me against their will.  The beauty of helping others - comes from watching them grow.  To be of service and assist in their own release and freedom from what bounds them to their tragedies and difficulties.

In addition, working in personal retreats my work with women has surprised me in how much they seek positive and mature male energy in their lives.

Seeing men admit to and overcome their limits; share with other men what really matters to them; and, recognizing their integrity and humanity in relationship to each other.  Powerful and memorable.

Look for what a helping "professional" has experienced in their own life and how they've worked through their difficulties.  What is their spiritual condition and connection to themselves?

They don't work from a book; they work from their own experience.

What life experiences, not necessarily credentials, do the professionals have and how did they move through their difficulties and struggles in ways that relate to you.
