About
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana. I am a National Certified Counselor, certified through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I specialize in working with children, adults, families, and groups. I am also trained as a Certified Anger Management Specialist II, to provide anger management to individuals and groups. I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Southern University and A&M College. I assist individuals with developing healthy boundaries and healthy effective coping skills to handle life’s stressors, discover that they have choices, which will empower meaning and purpose in their lives in an empathetic and supportive environment. I use a combination of approaches for counseling, which is based on the client's needs and the nature of the presenting issues. The approaches that I use are psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and person-centered therapy. The initial session will consist of intake paperwork, signing consent forms and an explanation of what to expect in each session, as well as the client’s expectations of counseling.
