I am a mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience. I provide general counseling services but have more extensive training in anxiety, depression, trauma, behavior disorders, parenting issues, attachment disruptions, autism, and stress management. I utilize cognitive-behavioral approaches, self-compassion, relational approaches, narrative, cognitive, psycho-educational and some components of PCIT.
I am passionate about clients feeling heard and empowered to make the changes they would like to see in their lives.
I am a licensed clinical social worker that provides clinical supervision to individuals seeking their advanced licensure.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Please call and talk with me about your needs and I will explain what I can offer. If you are interested, we will schedule an intake session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in social work from the University of Iowa. I have provided therapy services in a variety of contexts for over 20 years.
I currently teach a summer course at the University as well as being employed to work with the schools, daycares, and families to support student mental health. I have received training in Parent-Child Interaction Training and am a Teacher-Child Interaction Training Coach.

I am in network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I provide a discounted rate for private pay clients.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have the most experience and training in depression, anxiety, trauma, early childhood, parenting support, and family therapy. However, I am a therapist supervisor and am versed in multiple evidence based practices to support a variety of issues.
