What I liked about working with Diahann was she help me interpret dreams I was having that were disturbing and helped me pin point the source for me having these dreams. That was very insightful.

I came to Diahann as an abused woman of 22 years. My husband in California told me almost everyday that he would kill me in various ways, called me ugly, fat, and worthless... eventually in front of my children. I was diagnosed with severe depression, anxiety, very low self esteem and PTSD.
She was patient with me, always available, and would allow me to talk while she asked basic questions and it was like light bulbs continued to turn on.
She was unlike any other therapist I had encountered. She never judged me, never forced her opinion on me, never minimized my feelings, and never revictimized me by telling me I was a bad person.
Furthermore she helped me to remember what an amazing person I am and always have been, she helped me to not fear my own independence and to most importantly remove the guilt I had regarding my adult children who witnessed my abuse. I remember her empowering statement and I cry while I write it “it takes only one good parent.”
    I’m a good parent.
Another thing she did was respect boundaries. I was vulnerable, lonely, emotional. But I was reminded constantly how I can do things myself, rebuild my life and finally enjoy it on my terms, not my abuser’s.
Currently, I have moved closer to my family that I had previously been isolated from. I have just received ANOTHER promotion from my multimillion dollar company as a Program Manager where I manage three programs. My 23 year old son is a Junior at the University of Memphis studying psychology and foreign languages while my 24 year old daughter attends Deleware State, an HBCU. She is a Junior, a resident advisor, and is planning to get her masters in Art Therapy.
Two years ago, their father was diagnosed as Paranoid schizophrenic, like his mother.
I have no doubt at all that it would have been a much more difficult road for me and inadvertently my children without Diahann. I can still hear her encouraging words and helpful strategies to combat the negative thoughts he programmed into my brain for so many years.
My sessions with her were life changing. In my opinion ANYONE who encounters her or has her as a therapist will undoubtedly regain strength, a greater sense of self, and self worth.

After helping homeless women over several years, I decided to return to school for formal training in clinical counseling.  I’ve not turn back since in my involvement in helping those seeking knowledge and understanding in how to cope with stress, health issues, or mental health conditions.

Seniors, Adult women and men, young adults, and adolescents.  Individuals of diverse nationalities, cultures, and ages.

I am excited to host my first Women’s Retreat in Dahlonega, Ga at the start of June.

I would suggest all clients take time to have an initial counseltation with the therapist, and then go from there.  Of course, look them up and consider their training and education.

Consider your commitment to therapy.  I tell all my clients to expect to work at achieving their goals.  A successful therapeutic experience requires the clients’ willingness to learn and work through the challenges they are experiencing.  The therapist has to build trust, be supportive, and willing to go the distance with the client. There is a dynamic in therapy between the client and therapist that must be professional and consistent in order to see expected results.
