I absolutely love when clients get off my table and realize that a long time pain that they've tuned out is gone. My sole reason for getting in to massage therapy was to be able to help people feel better both physically and emotionally from stress reduxtion.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Over there phone I will discuss times, modalities and any possible contraindications.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associate's Degree in both massage therapy and Emergency Medicine as well as many years of continuing education and work on various doctor's offices and spas.
How did you get started in this business?
After I finished my schooling, I decided to open my own practice bringing massage to those who need it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of customers, from those with mental and physical disabilities, to athletes, to those recovering from accidents. I have also worked in the spa environment, offering luxury and relaxation.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask the therapist what their view on deep tissue therapy. Anyone that tells you that you have to hurt during the massage to achieve relaxation has an unhealthy view of deep tissue massage. Also be wary of those that promise miraculous results. Massage it a great tool but that's all it is. It is not a cute for anything.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about if you need pain relief and what areas need to be worked. Think about if you have any allergies to scents or oils or laundry detergent and make sure to talk to the therapist about that before they arrive .
