What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New Patients get 90-minutes to spend one-on-one with Dr. Dawn Potter-Balusik. She personally reviews your health history as well as learns everything she can about your current health complaints.
Also, in this first visit, you will recieve your first acupuncture, cupping and/or myofascial release treatment, along with nutritional recommendations and, if appropriate, herbal medicine and/or nutritional supplements to assist in your healing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Dr. Dawn is a Nationally Certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (which encompasses acupuncture and herbal medicine), and a Florida licensed Acupuncture Physician.
To achieve these licenses, Dr. Dawn received her Master's Degree of Oriental Medicine from the East-West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL in 2004. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from the Ohio University (1996), a Massage Therapy Diploma from the Crystal Mountain School of Massage in New Mexico (1998), and a Bachelor of Health Science, (2004).
Dr. Dawn is also certified in Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

How did you get started in this business?
I began as a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1997. From there I went on to study Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture.

Make sure you are seeking a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine for your acupuncture therapy. These are the professionals who have a 4-year Master's Degree and National Certification specifically in Oriental Medical and Acupuncture diagnostics and treatment strategies. In FL, we are licensed as Primary Care Physicians.
