Rise Above Counseling Services of Tampa Bay, LLC supports people as they pursue their healing. As a therapist, I marvel at my clients' courage to answer the tough questions and face the troubling problems. We apply the methods that WORK and see the RESULTS--it is a daily boost to my heart!
I'm a former teacher, a writer, a parent, dog-mom, pizza lover, and runner. I've completed training in the Gottman Method, a research-based theory for helping couples to THRIVE, not merely SURVIVE. As your therapist, I am your supporter, your encourager, your educator, and listener. I do NOT judge, critique, rescue, or boss you around. Therapy is about YOU moving forward with my support.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To get started, I get to know you and your reason for seeking counseling. We draft a plan for your healing that includes short-term and long goals. We define signs that show that you've reached your goals. I'll recommend other professionals and resources that will support your plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate in communications and education. My graduate work for counseling included specific training in family systems, addictions, disorders, relationships, anxiety, and more. I have also completed Level One Training in the Gottman Method--an internationally respected theory for helping couples rebuild their relationships. Lastly, I am a published writer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My general fee is $55/session, and I match insurance copays.
How did you get started in this business?
Psychology is fascinating! I fell in love with the therapeutic processs.
