About

Individual and Group Psychotherapy.

My approach to individual and group therapy utilizes approaches of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and traditional psychodynamic principles.

I specialize in recovery from Narcisstic Abuse. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Creative Arts Therapist, so therapy with me is more ecletic in the senses that if you are open to engaging in art therapy, writing, movement therapy to address your treatment goals I provide space for that. I am traditionally trained in psychotherapy as well. Simply, I meet you where your at and we can create together your ideal treatment goals.

I have ther personal expeience and empathy to understand the ardorous challenge of recovering from Narcisstic abuse, I love being a champion for my clients and watch their recovery is a quite special thing for me. I believe that your recovery vibrates through others in the future.

Frequently asked questions

Ideally, we start with a free 15 minute phone consultation, I encourage my clients to visit my website or social media pages to visually get a sense of who I am and the work that I do. The consultation is to provide space for you to ask more questions, share what your challenges are, goals that you would like to address.  We then would discuss the different modalities I utilize to see if that is something you are comfortable with. This process to an open time and I am here to make you feel 100% comfortable in your decision whether we are a good fit.  If it's not something you would like to pursue I will also be working on helping find other referrals.

I am Shahla Nikpour, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Creative Arts Therapist. I obtained my Social Work degree at Hunter College in New York City and my master’s in Creative Arts Therapy at the Pratt Institute.   I have additional training in mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialetical behavioral therapy and post graduate training working with adolescents.

Rates: Upon consultation rates will be discussed.  I also consider a sliding scale fee when working with healthcare providers, mental health professionals.  I am mindful of the current economic stressors at this time and will try and work with you in these challenges.
