Hello! Here is some information and a description of services provided; regarding my Counseling Therapy and Reiki/Integrated Energy Therapy practice, “Live by the Sun Feel by the Moon”, in Farmington, CT where I am proud to be a sole proprietor of for nearly 4 years. My office is conveniently located a few minutes off of CT-4/Main Street in Farmington, CT. The office is located in the Canal House; which is on the Farmington River located in a historic, peaceful, serene, beautiful, quiet, relaxing and tranquil setting on Garden Street in a historic 1800’s canal house located on the Freedom Trail. The back of the building has chairs and space to sit that overlooks the majestic river. My client age range involves specializing in young adults ages eighteen and over; including counseling for adults; along with some older teen work. My areas of specialty include but are not limited to: grief and loss, anxiety, depression, young adult issues, stress management, health concerns/topics, women's issues & body image/self esteem. I am in my thirteenth year working as a High School Counselor in the State Of Connecticut Technical High School system. I am also an Intuitive Reiki Master as well as an Integrated Energy Therapist.These holistic and complementary therapy modalities are a beneficial component of my practice. Energy therapy allows clients to become more mindful, increase relaxation, improve concentration and focus, and become more grounded and centered. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customers can email call or text. Be sure to feel as though you can feel comfortable asking questions and speaking to the provider. Look at client reviews. Check out any certifications and background experience the provider has. I can set up a time to consult on the phone with a client to find a mutual time; to talk, answer questions, etc. Potential clients can look at my reviews at: https://www.thumbtack.com/2mHd5
I like to inform customers of what to expect during a session and assist in answering any questions. I like to communicate with a new customer prior to the actual session starting to go over what to expect, etc.
I have session rates that include 1.5 hour total appointments that include pre and post session feedback and special package deals which include multiple sessions. I also have sessions that are a half hour long; and sessions that can be longer to accommodate what my clients are looking for. It is recommended for clients to have multiple appointments at the start of Reiki/energy therapy. Some clients prefer appointments every 1.5-2 weeks and others enjoy a session each month. It is a personal preference. I accept Payments through PayPal, cash, checks, and credit cards.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Master Level Reiki practitioner; as well as a Master Level Integrated Energy Therapist. I am a Level 2 Animal Reiki Practitioner. I have taken continuing education courses in holistic health, nutrition studies, chakra studies, angel studies, aromatherapy, business, emotional freedom technique, etc. I completed an 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program last spring. I have a certificate of completion in "Healing Angels of the Energy Field". I am an active member of the CT Counseling Association; as well as the CT School Counselor Association. I received a post masters professional counselor certification and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor certified in CT. I have a Bachelors of Science in Human Development & Family Studies and a Masters of Science in School Counseling

For Licensed Professional Counseling appointments, I accept the following insurance: Anthem, Cigna, Humana/Tricare; as well as some other insurances as out of network, and private pay options available.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with adults from ages 20 and up who have experienced Reiki/energy work. For over thirteen years now, I work as a High School Counselor assisting teens ages 14 through 18 in the education field. My husband and I have four adopted cats who enjoy receiving reiki. I also work with client's pet animals who enjoy receiving the healing energy of reiki.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been a part of an organization called Toivo which is a non profit community based organization offering low/free cost programs such as yoga, tai-chi, group counseling, wellness events to the community. I was a part of a Karuna CT conference in April 2019 where I was able to promote my business at a healing arts space at a two day conference and offer reiki to conference attendees. I’ve also been at the CT legistlative office building offering reiki to individuals and at other conferences, such as the CT Dental Association Conference.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Some questions to ask would be: Why does a customer want to experience reiki/energy work, what is the customer looking to get out of energy work. In addition, it is important to ask a practitioner about their background, experience, question the feedback they receive from clients and ask them to share and discuss the positive effects of energy work, counseling, etc.
