Geeetings! I am Robert Nesbitt, Jr., LCSW and I am the founder of The Dover Counseling Center, LLC. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the human services field. I am a graduate of New York University (’06) and an alumnus of Long Island University (’01). I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University (’24). I have extensive experience provided counseling to youth, adults and seniors including the developmentally disabled and LGBTQ populations.
Currently, I am offering HIPAA compliant telehealth services during the COVID-19 health crisis. I am also available for scheduled in-office visits in New Haven, Connecticut. We are all experiencing very challenging times that are indeed heightening levels of anxiety and sadness. These feelings often impact our relationships and call for professional assistance. There is no need to worry, as you are in good hands. You will never feel judged or criticized in our safe haven of therapeutic support. How did you get started in this business?
I've worked in the field of human services for over 20 years. My passion and purpose in life is to be of service to others. We are all human beings who have unique stories to tell. Seeking talk therapy is a reflection of self-love and I am here to facilitate it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The Dover Counseling Center services adults and seniors. We also offer family therapy by appointment. We have experience with persons with disabilities, behaviorally challenging, all cultures and sexual orientations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am pleased discover the new medical interventions and vaccines in combating the COVID-19 virus. Together we will conquer this pandemic.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The best advice for any person seeking a therapist is to feel comfortable with the person's energy. We are all beings of light and to ensure a healthy therapeutic alliance, both client and therapist must be in energetic alignment.
