Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free consultation call to prospective clients so we can get to know each other a bit and discuss your needs. After signing a small amount of paperwork, we meet! I guide the conversation to start exploring your concerns and goals. I spend time assessing to get a good sense of the individual before me and their challenges so we can make a treatment plan that is both evidence-based and comfortable for the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been practicing therapy since 1995, licensed in 2003, and I was a school counselor for twenty years. My clinical work is rooted in creating a safe space for my clients and building a strong therapeutic relationship. Treatment methods include cognitive behavioral therapy, emotional processing, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation, among others.

How did you get started in this business?
I'm one of the lucky people who was called to my work at an early age. Perhaps related to some of my childhood struggles, I've always been interested in connecting with people on a deep level and understanding what's behind their thoughts and feelings.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In my career, I've worked in various fields: foster care, domestic violence, mental health, and K-12 school counseling. I enjoy helping teens, families, couples, and adults with a variety of emotional and practical challenges. Helping people live an authentic, liberated, and satisfying life is extremely rewarding!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Yesterday, a student came to me on the last day of school with tears in her eyes. She told me how much she will miss me, that she never felt so supported before she met me. She told me she feels confident and proud of herself for how well she's handled the hard times she's experienced. I have been absolutely blessed to work with amazing young people, many of whom have expressed what a strong impact I've had on their lives.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Most people trust their therapists and don't really know how to tell a good one from a not-so-good one.You deserve a therapist who understands and LIKES you! They should honor your needs and the pace you set for your growth work. They should also be knowledgable and competent about your issue without lecturing or monopolizing the conversation time in sessions. Clients should receive from their therapist an experience of being seen, supported, encouraged, and enlightened.
