Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the first visit we do a complete health history. We cover lots of ground during the interview, from the issue(s) to be treated, to digestion, sleep patterns and much more. I will also view the tongue and feel the pulses to see if there are any underlying imbalances that might be causing symptoms. After that, the client will lie down on the table and receive acupuncture, and cupping and herbal remedies, if appropriate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, of all things. Great scientific background that gives me insight into the workings of allopathic medicine. My Master's degree is in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and I am licensed by the state of California and the NCCAOM.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Initial visits are $136, follow up sessions are $98 and cupping-only sessions are $54. Herbal remedies are approximately $60/month.
How did you get started in this business?
It was a disillusionment with allopathic medicine and scientific research that ultimately got me looking into alternative medicine. Discovering that the plants and minerals naturally found on our planet can and have been used medicinally for thousands of years was what convinced me to try holistic medicine. Once I did, I was amazed at how effective a therapy such as acupuncture can be. It is a subtle and powerful way to promote our bodies' own ability to heal.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. Chinese medicine is gentle enough for children and the elderly, while still being strong enough for the toughest pain cases. I've treated everything from a broken back to infertility, but the one thing my patients have in common is a willingness to prioritize their health. It's all about getting healthy and then staying there, so that they can be their best selves in daily life.
