Elizabeth Nickens,LCSW, MPH

I have been licensed as a psychotherapist in California since 1987. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Biology from Antioch University and I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from San Francisco State University. My clinical training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy occurred at the Langley Porter Institute at the University of California, San Francisco. After completing the social work program I began doing research at the Trauma Foundation at San Francisco General Hospital where I specialized in working with individuals who had experienced interpersonal violence. My interest in health and prevention then led me to obtain a Master's degree in public health at the University of California in Berkeley. I have advanced Diplomate certification from the National Association of Social Workers, the American Board of Examiners and the American Psychotherapy Association.
