Professional Counseling Associates

Valerie Wilson earned her Master’s degree from Liberty University in Professional Counseling and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Liberty University. She is pursuing full state licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor under the supervision of Dr. John Michael. She obtained her Associate’s degree from Virginia College in Therapeutic Massage.

Valerie’s undergraduate internship involved work in an alcohol rehab center focusing on substance abuse treatment services. Her graduate internship involved counseling faculty and students at a local university. She also enjoys mentoring youth and newly married couples from her church.

She hopes to help individuals develop a higher sense of self-awareness by exploring daily activities and thought processes that may contribute to their physical and mental dis-ease in hopes that this will assist them in becoming healthier, and to also help them to achieve higher levels of wellness through psychotherapy and integrative massage techniques and self-care to maintain great physical health.

Valerie and her husband, Nicholas, are parents of three sons; each in their own developmental stages...an adult, teenager, and adolescent. Her unique family dynamic contributes to her ability to understand and resolve relational issues.
