About

I am genuinely a holistic practitioner and although I have years of training in diagnostics and clinical mental health, I see everyone as an individual with unique needs in order to work toward meeting their potential. This may include exploring issues of nutrition, environmental factors, relationships, communication difficulties, behavioral and thought patterns, and physical health in addition to psychological health and/or trauma recovery. If I feel strongly that a client's needs are beyond my scope of practice, I will help a client find their way to get these needs met. The first years of my training were specializing in assessment and tuning into an individual's needs while maintaining a comforting and nonjudgmental space for clients to freely express themselves. I am also highly skilled in various evidenced-based therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, Seeking Safety, and various other mindfulness and CBT methods.

Everyone I meet has an inspirational story and being the person who shines the light on someone else's personal power is very magical. I love what I do and find so much joy in seeing others begin to meet their full potential. Overcoming trauma, depression, or anxiety can be a journey...even finding the right and true balance in life without these barriers can be difficult and so much easier when you have support and guidance.

    Frequently asked questions

I offer a free 30 minute consult for people to come and meet me to see if I am a good fit for them, which most people take advantage of to ensure their committment and that I am indeed a good fit for them and that my approach and skill set align with their needs. Following this appointment, I begin by scheduling a holistic mental health evaluation to review history and establish goals a client will be focusing on throughout their work with me.

I have a Master's Degree in Social Work with a focus on mental health counseling. I have been a practicing mental health therapist for over 12 years with specialized training and experience in trauma recovery and couple's counseling utilizing various modalities in mindfulness/ mind-body awareness, EMDR, and Gottman Couple's Method.

My flat rate is $111/ hr. I do accept some insurance plans and have a percentage of my caseload open to clients in need of a sliding scale.

Began volunteering at a day treatment program for preschool children and became a Therapeutic Preschool Specialist and Behavioral Consultant for a large school district before entering graduate school.

I have clientelle, both men and woman, who range in age from 17-65 mostly with issues related to histories of childhood abuse and trauma manifesting as present anxiety issues and lack of overall life balance and/or unhealthy relationships with their bodies. I also assist couples who struggle as a result of issues arising due to one or both partner's history of trauma and need to establish consistent connection and shared meaning.

Attended a lecture given by Deepak Chopra focusing on personal development and the importance of a holistic approach to healthcare, which also included discussion about the synergy between science and spirituality.

Establish what the issues are that you are needing to address and find a therapist who specializes in those needs. Then ask to meet with the therapist for a brief time in order to ensure they are a good fit for you, so not only do they specialize in your particular issues, but you also feel comfortable talking to them and the space in which you will be meeting.

What are my expectations of participation in therapy and of my individual therapist? What type of person would I feel most comfortable working with? Am I committed and able to work through difficult issues at this time? Am I ready to address all areas in my life that are possibly having a negative impact on my overall well-being?
