About

The sessions I have with clients can serve many functions. Some examples include destressing, pain relief, transforming long-persisting structures and patterns in the body, and decoding emotions embedded in these holding patterns. No matter the intention, my work is a tool that my clients use in their self-healing journeys.

Generally, our sessions involve a lot of me listening to your tissues. The techniques and level of pressure I use will come from what the body's tissues request, what you feel comfortable with, and what your goals are. This can range from gentle holding and rocking to deep pressure and stretching. Most find the intensity of sensation neither too hard nor too light, since my training helps me understand the tissues' needs and what they are ready for. Some may experience brief and occasional discomfort, but it is extremely manageable and most actually enjoy being able to feel the changes that occur deep in their bodies! After our sessions, clients have freer movement as old patterns melt away.

The three main components of my work are:

Deep Connective Tissue Bodywork

Release the tension that currently exists in your connective tissue, and return your body systematically to an aligned position. This aspect of Structural Integration is a “hands on” process, in which I work with my hands to release tension in the fascia and stretch it back into its normal and more functionally optimal position. Releasing chronic tension allows the body to feel free and rested, producing what might be an uncommon – yet normal – state of well-being.

Movement Education

Become profoundly aware of your body and your movement patterns, and as a result discover easier and fuller ways of moving. The use of your body in common daily life activities – sitting, standing, walking, and reaching – will be addressed along with movement patterns in your favorite sports, hobbies and other activities.

Self-Awareness Dialogue

Become aware and more responsible for how your thoughts, feelings and beliefs relate to the posture and overall health of your body. Learn how an attitude shift can expand your body’s health and your self expression.

If you are a new client, expect a brief intake. This will not count towards your session time.
