Elle S Avery MEd LPC
About
My service stands out in that I provide clients with a safe, nonjudgmental environment in which clients are free to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In addition, I take great pride in customizing each clients treatment and do not participate in"cookie cutter" treatment. I have been practicing for 18 years and have been told by many clients that I am very "down to earth" , an "excellent listener"an am " genuine and authentic " in nature.
There is nothing more satisfying to me than to be invited to join a client on their journey. Nothing is more satisfying to me than to see each clients insight, self esteem, growth and personal development improve along the way.

I participate with various health care insurances that have mental health coverage. If a client doesn't have insurance coverage or if I don't participate with your individual insurance, I offer a sliding fee scale in which the client and I negotiate a fee that works for both of us.
How did you get started in this business?
When I determined what type of career I wanted to pursue, I tried to determine where my strengths lie. I thought about my strong sense of empathy for others, my excellent listening skills, my perceptiveness, my deep self introspection, my sincere interest in the circumstances of others as unique individuals. Clients have referred to me as "down to earth", " easy to talk to" and "real."
What types of customers have you worked with?
For the first half of my career I focused on working with children, adolescents and their parents. I also saw several adults as well. For the second half of my career I have chosen to work primarily with adults 18+. Unfortunately it seems that in this world climate clients are struggling most with anxiety and depression
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I received a phone call from a woman, just yesterday, that I had worked with approximately 5years ago. She had told me that she considered seeing another therapist but knew deep down that we had a strong therapeutic relationship and a trust and that she wanted to pursue our relationship as therapist and client again.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would encourage customers to make initial sessions with several therapists. Come prepared with a list of questions to ask each one . Trust your gut. If one therapist in particular seems to really clique with you keep that in mind when choosing a therapist.
