Elizabeth was very easy to talk to I like the fact that she works out of her home her office is very non-clinical more relaxed in friendly I could really feel like Elizabeth was not only listing but also understanding . It was the first time I really felt a connection with somebody that truly I felt cared and could help me. For the first time in a long time I look forward to better relationships with others and I also look forward to a much happier day-to-day life with the tools to help with my anxiety. I no longer fear my future but look forward to it. Thank you so much Elizabeth Ilook forward to next week.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always try to make sure that when a new client start they don't have to do just paperwork on the first day but they do get some time talking about what brought them to therapy. A lot of times people are inundated with paperwork at the first session I always extend the length of the first session so that we can do paperwork and therapy. I want my clients to feel safe in a warm kind atmosphere.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor's degree in arts and science from South Dakota State University and a master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Argosy University in Minneapolis. I am also trained in EMDR which deals with traumatic memories and phobias
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $70 per hour of counseling and I do not accept insurance. I decided to do this so that it is affordable to most people across the board. You then don't have to deal with your insurance company and them knowing that you are seeking therapy which can sometimes affect your rates. Some counselors charge $200 plus per hour and I believe that counseling should be affordable to all.
How did you get started in this business?
I had always been interested in becoming a therapist and I went back to get my Master's degree when I was 40 years old! I absolutely love what I do for a living and feel like I have been called to do it instead of it just being a job.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with both children and adults. The age for children starts at age 13. I work with couples, individuals, and families. I have also done group counseling. I am certified in EMDR which is a trauma-based therapy for people who are going through traumatic situations or have traumatic memories from their past. It is amazing how well it works! I also specialize in Christian counseling for those who want to apply their faith to the healing process. But if a client does not want to include that in therapy that's not a problem either.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a client come in who had been sexually assaulted and was suffering greatly in all areas of her life because of it. I performed EMDR on her for 7 weeks and she was a different person at the end of it! It was an amazing experience and I recommend it to any of you who are struggling with trauma.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I think it is very important for a client to feel comfortable with their therapist. Make sure you ask any question and all questions before starting therapy or at your first session.
