Dr. Yocum has been a licensed acupuncturist since 2010, and specializes in successfully treating all types of pain, headaches, migraines, anxiety, depression, stress, fertility concerns, urogenital issues, excess weight, digestive disorders, side effects of chemotherapy and/or radiation, and other symptoms.
She has two convenient office locations- one within Indigo Restorative Health in Columbia and the other at Indigo Fox Acupuncture & Wellness in New Market. Dr. Yocum accepts Aetna insurance, and many PPO plans may provide reimbursement for acupuncture services. A former behavioral neuroscientist, Dr. Yocum uses her previous experience conducting research in using nutrition to affect conditions of aging such as Alzheimer's Disease and stroke to help patients make healthy dietary and lifestyle choices to improve their outcomes and achieve their wellness goals. She has also taught yoga since 2006, is a Reiki Master and Feng Shui Consultant. Dr. Yocum is the founder of The Chinese Medicine Cleanse, which is an online 21 day program that has helped people lose weight, achieve higher energy levels, and feel better since 2011.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New patients will be given pre-screening questions and be required to fill out paperwork to provide Dr. Yocum with their basic health and contact information. At the first visit, the session will last about 1.5 hrs, and Dr. Yocum will go over the patient's full medical history, complete diagnostic exams, and the patient will receive their first needle treatment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Dr. Yocum has the following degrees: Doctorate of Acupuncture, Master of Acupuncture, Master of the Arts in Experimental Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She additionally has certifications in Yoga, Reiki- Master Level, and Feng Shui Consulting.
