About

I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples and families struggling with relational issues. Many of us do not realize the impact our childhood has had on who we are today. I look at each client from an attachment perspective to make sense of the behaviors they are struggling with individually or relational. Once we can make sense of the behaviors we can then begin to incorporate new healthy behaviors thus, changing your life. We are all capable of making the needed changes. Sometimes we just need a little guidance along the way.

I love helping to repair individuals, couples and family relationships. I have had couples come to me preparing for the divorce process and parents who were in the middle of the divorce process both situations were reversed because we were able to make sense of the negative behaviors in the relationship and created a new healthy cycle for the families to begin this new journey. As humans, we have a need for connection. I love being able to help couples and families find this connection that has been lost.

Frequently asked questions

I want to speak with each client over the phone to discuss their goals and to make sure I am a good fit for them. I explain the process of counseling, my approach using an attachment framework and schedule the first appointment once the client give me the go ahead to move forward. I then email my forms for each client to complete and bring with them for the first session.

Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Holy Cross Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) with the state of LA National Certified Counselor (NCC) EFT Advanced trained with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy working toward certification (ICEEFT).

I do my best to work with clients by meeting their needs. I am advanced trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and each client that comes to me has a better understanding of the behaviors that impact their negative cycle. Making sense of ones self, validates the client for not being different or shamed but accepting of who they are. I do accept discounted rate clients so if you are in need of a lower rate, please reach out to me to see if we are a good fit and we can discuss fees at that time.

My regular fees are 60 minutes /$90, 90 minutes /$120

I am unable to accept insurance at this time.

I started working with Child Welfare Services in San Diego 11 years ago and fell in love with helping to reconnect families. I then began working for different shelters and programs for at risk youth, domestic violence and sexual assault. I loved that work so much but felt I had a higher purpose to help people on an individual and reltional basis.

I see Individuals, couples and families who are in crisis, struggling with self harm behaviors, depression, unhealthy relationships and even that "stuck" feeling. Typically clients come to me as their last resort because they do not know what else to do. I love being able to help clients create new secure bonds within themselves, in their relationships and families.

It is extremely gratifying to help individuals or couples experiencing distress. To be able to help them process and make sense of why they are doing what they are doing to cope, is a great feeling. My goal is to help my clients by giving them insight as to their attachments, injuries, and why they cope the way they do. In doing this we change the “Negative Cycle” ultimately starting a new healthy cycle with themselves or in their relationship.

Finding the right therapist is like finding that last missing piece to the puzzle. There are so many counselors out there but not everyone is a good fit for you. Interview the potential counselors and make sure you feel comfortable with them, and their approach to counseling. Understand what your goals are for coming into counseling will help you along the interviewing process. An ethical counselor will help you understand the differences and refer you to a better fit therapist if that is what is best for you the client.

Ask if they have had specialized training in what you are struggling with.
