What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
CHoose a therapist with whom you make a personal connection... a therapist with a sense of humor, compassion, wisdom, intellect and passion for people and the profession.
Studies have shown that the single most important component in successful therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. Regardless of credentials,or length of experience in the field, the connection between the client and the counselor is the best predictor of success.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are their goals, willingness to make changes, and obstacles?
Are there others who they may need to involve im the process, i.e., spouse, parent, etc.
