About this pro

I have been a therapist for over 23 years and pride myself on the following:

I create a sense of safety and trust that allows you to process your deepest pain, sorrow & fear.

I ask very powerful questions that help you determine the roots of your struggle and how to effectively manage your thoughts and emotions.

I encourage and support you well on a journey of radical life transformation from sorrow to joy, peace & purpose.

I am highly skilled in the areas of PTSD, anxiety, trauma, depression, human sexuality, and relational dynamics.

I have specialized training working with people who have been disenfranchised by society and/ or their families.

I work effectively to help you live with a greater sense of physical and emotional wellness and I help people break free from a pharmacy-based disease model of mental health.

I believe all people have the innate ability to solve problems and create dynamic change and all people deserve excellent support along the journey.

I work with people in a holistic fashion that addresses their physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social needs.

I love when clients step fully out of the depression of their past or anxiety of their future and live fully in the present moment.

I love when people heal quickly and experience lasting change.

I never thought therapist were that helpful. From now on I know it’s better to talk to a therapist rather than a good friend. Many of our good friends can’t read a certain behavior, they can’t see below the surface, but a top notch counselor as Mr Trey Malicot,M,S can tell you exactly what you been saying or doing without telling him. When he told me how my argument went I laughed so hard because he was so exact. That’s how I like to spend my money, and I am sure this is how everybody else would like to spend their money too on great value. What a great help. Easyyyyyyy to talk to. A golden soul. Definitely worth it. After my first session I felt completely different.

I did a deep dive with Trey in September 2018. I had become nearly immobilized for more than two years through a divorce, loss of my home and the death of the dearest person in my life. When I met Trey, he reached deep inside my soul simply by touch. It was both unnerving and compelling for someone I had just met talk to me in great detail about the challenges I was living even though I had never told him anything about myself. I was intrigued with the possibility that I had met someone who could help me find my way past my own self-imposed exile from life. After talking with him on the phone and listening to his ideas on his website, I booked four days of his time and hopped on a plane from San Francisco to St. Petersburg a few days later. I can say without reservation this is the best investment I have made in myself in many years. Trey is an extraordinary listener. Every day was hard, but Trey bore witness, held space for the intense trauma I'd experienced and challenged every assumption I was using to hold myself back. I will be ever grateful for his support, wisdom and love! It changed my life in the most positive way!

Trey helped me through some serious decisions and challenging times. His coaching and guidance is very powerful.

Trey was a coach for our Real Estate team in Casper, Wyoming a number of years ago. He was the one who hired me, and the one who continued to coach myself, my employer, and my team, for years to come. One of the many things that I took away from those coaching sessions, was confidence. Trey taught me to demand respect for myself- from myself, and from others. He helped me get through stressful situations, and empowered me to grow as an individual, as well as in my own business. I would most definitely recommend the work of Trey!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

As a counselor and personal coach, I help you navigate the challenges of life by listening, asking powerful questions, helping you identify areas for growth, and supporting you on the journey to create the life you wish to live.

I use a number of clinical modalities including cognitive behavior therapy, hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, acute trauma remediation, solution-focused brief therapy, and family systems work. My objective is to find the most effective treatment modalities to help you address your personal and professional challenges rapidly and effectively.

In our initial session, I will help you identify the areas and goals for change and we will collaboratively create a treatment plan designed to get you the RESULTS you desire as QUICKLY as possible. My goal is to help you develop the tools and skills YOU need to make lasting change.

If we work one-on-one or if you are a couple, I will do my best to help you build your toolbox for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and intimacy issues, communication problems, and anything else you need to create a life of joy, peace, and purpose. I am very skilled at helping you identify the problems to address and how to address them well.

I am sure we will work beautifully together!

On a final note, I have practiced as a professional therapist for over 20 years, and specifically as a life coach for the last 10 years. I work primarily with adults but will work with teens over the age of 16.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.

I have completed an additional 90 hours of specific training on PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression through the National Organization for Victim Assistance.

I have served as an adjunct professor at Western Oregon University, Oregon State University, University of Oregon, The University of Denver, and several community colleges. I have taught classes on fear, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, human sexuality, ethics, and a host of other topics.

I have written one book on children's grief and currently working on another book about managing fear, anxiety, and depression in changing times.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

I charge a flat rate of $100 per hour and offer customized 12-week coaching packages. I also offer a sliding-fee scale for people who are struggling financially. Payment is made through Paypal, Venmo, or Zelle. In  addition, I offer webinars and classes on my website

How did you get started in this business?

I have been a seeker all my life. On my journey, I have done a great deal of studying and personal work to determine why people suffer and how to stop! My goal is to create a life of joy, peace, and purpose and support others on their journey to do the same!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have spent my entire career working with people who truly want to stop suffering and start thriving.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Hire someone who has walked their path and who offers precise tools and support for radical change! Proper therapy and coaching should NOT last a lifetime; if it does, the therapist is not good at their work.
