    Frequently asked questions

Emily offers a free phone consultation before the first session to allow the client to identify if it feels like a good fit. After that, Emily will send over consent forms and go through the therapeutic process. The first session will be longer due to a need to gather more information and likely will consist of 1-2 assessments to help Emily diagnose, create a treatment plan and best support the client. We will then work together to establish appropriate treatment goals to help the client achieve sustainable change within their lives.

Emily Received her Masters and Specialist degree from the University of Florida. Emily works from a child centered lens, and specializes in Play therapy. Emily is a certified Circle of Seciroty parenting facilitator, which focuses on helping parent understand their child's attachment and also addresses their own struggles in being parented. Before going into private practice Emily worked with children and families who experienced abuse and trauma, and helped them to heal, develop coping skills, and repair the traumas which occurred. Emily went on to study infant mental health, attachment, developmental needs, and focused her work in early childhood and attachment needs to help increase connection between children and their caregivers.

Emily changes $150 for the initial intake which will be about 1.5 hours and requires significant work after to diagnose, develop treatment goals and ensure all consent paperwork is addressed and understood clearly by the client. After the initial intake Emily offers a sliding scale, between $100-150 per session. We are accepting insurance through United, Oxford, Oscar and BCBS.

I love helping an individual recognizes their greatness and see how capable they truly are when they are greeted with compassion, kindness, empathy and understanding. No one gets out of this world unhurt, but we can all make the brave choice to heal.
