Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer the convenience of offering online booking to my clientele after chatting a bit about what they're looking for. This allows you to look at my offerings, rates, and availability, so that you can coordinate your schedule needs on your own time.
You can also call London Alley Salon at (303) 830-0333, and they can book your service with me!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2010, and a licensed esthetician since 2016. I am trained and certified in: swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, sports stretching, reflexology, prenatal, and postpartum massage; I incorporate a variety of techniques into each of my custom massages, including aromatherapy and hot towels. My esthetics training includes: full body waxing, facials, dermaplaning, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, body treatments, lash lifts & tinting, and lash extensions (both classic and volume).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing for all of my services can be found on my booking site, but my specific standard massage rates (which include all modalities for a truly customized experience without having to pay extra for special techniques) are:
60 minutes: $80
90 minutes: $100
120 minutes: $120
Hot stone add-on: $20
Travel fee: $20
How did you get started in this business?
I started in 2010 at one of the top rated luxury day spas in the Washington DC area. I have gravitated to locations that would allow me to offer the utmost in personal care for my entire career, and that dedication to giving the best service has remained with me ever since branching out on my own in 2017.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with customers with a wide variety of care needs, including: professional / retired / amateur athletes, accident rehabilitation, repetitive motion injuries, pregnancy, postpartum, geriatric, pediatric, as well as pure stress relief / relaxation.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of the best parts of my job is the opportunity to meet and interact with people who I might not under ordinary circumstances. Exposure to people from all walks of life allows everyone the chance to learn and grow as people AND as professionals. Regular visits help to build rapport, which allows me to anticipate therapeutic needs and meet them consistently. Some people need to verbalize emotional stress they've experienced, and although I'm not a professional counselor, I consider myself to be a kind, compassionate, and nonjudgemental listener.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would advise anyone who is looking for a massage therapist or esthetician to look for someone who is licensed and experienced in their field. Licensing bodies exist to ensure that whoever you work with is not only trained and skilled, but also upholds professional standards of accountability and integrity. Experience is something that comes with time and dedication to honing your craft. People often leave this profession within their first five years, so those who have endured beyond that mark are truly passionate about their vocation.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Determine exactly what you're looking for and why. Actively search for someone who meets those needs. Be realistic about what outcomes are achievable in the amount of time you're requesting. Understand that whoever you see has undergone extensive training to become a professional, and should be treated with the same kindness and respect you wish to be treated with.
