Counseling is learning to laugh at the absurd nature of being human.
Many people in today's ever-changing, fast-paced, technology-driven world, are struggling and disconnected, yet are unsure what to do about it. Be it depression, anxiety, family, parenting, substance use, identity, work & life balance, or other such issues, life can be overwhelming. If you are looking for a change in your life, willing to work for it, and want to learn to laugh at life, I will work with you.
As a Counselor, I don’t do psychobabble, if you want a straight talking and commonsense approach to life’s problems, it is my job to help you find a way to make adjustments in your daily life that will help you to have improved decision making, finding simple solutions, and developing and maintaining relationships with frank and honest communication.
I believe that every individual is a result of a series of everyday choices that shape and create their reality, and while we may be around others who hold similar views, it is important to remember that we all want to be recognized and heard by the people in our lives. If you are seeking a change and a different direction in your life please contact me.
I have worked in the mental health field for 18 years. I specialize in counseling for issues surrounding aging, long-term care, chronic medical conditions, suicide, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions/mid-life crisis, family, parenting, identity, and work & life balance. I use an eclectic approach of solution-focused, person-in-environment, choice theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapeutic styles.
I can provide therapy either in-person, by video chat, or on the phone in 50 min sessions.
I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know you where you're at and providing assistance to help you get what you want and where you want to go in your life.
