About

Hello!

My name is Ainsley Cone, LCSW and I am the owner of Reframe Counseling, LLC.

My guess is you are here because things in your life are no longer working for you. In our lifetime we experience crossroads and issues that require some extra examination, processing and unconditional support- and maybe even to adapt new skills to help us better move through life.

So, what is Reframe Counseling?

Reframe Counseling is a place for older teens and adults to receive therapeutic services for a variety of issues including: Stress, Anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, Phobias, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (picking, hair pulling, etc), Depression, ADHD, Relationship Issues, Communication Issues and Life Transitions

Reframe Counseling is based on the concept that much of what gets in our way to feeling secure is how we are perceiving our current and past experiences- along with our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. These are the "frames" in which we see ourselves and the world. The narratives and coping patterns we have adopted may have been useful at one time, however they may now get in our way from being who we authentically are.

You may find your behaviors are not aligned with what you truly value, causing your issues to exacerbate. You may be caught up in your thoughts and feelings about the past or future; thus missing the present. Your nervous system may be holding on to past traumas, causing you to react to situations in the present, as if they were in the past.

This further impacts the frames in which you see yourself and the world.

Working towards increasing your awareness, working towards "reframing" unhelpful cognitions, emotions and behaviors, as well as practicing acceptance and mindfulness- you will be able to let go of that which no longer serves you.

I am trained in a multiple of therapeutic modalities that have been researched and proven to be effective

Some of these modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and more.

As you are unique and not one modality "fits all", I interweave modalities to customize treatment to each person. We will work together to address the issues that are most problematic for you, and along the way customizing treatment according to your goals.

If you are ready to work on reframing your life, please contact me. I offer free 15 minute initial consultations over the phone.

Working towards increasing your awareness, and through "reframing" unhelpful cognitions, emotions, behaviors; you will be better able to accept things that are out of your control, be better able to change the things you have control over and stay engaged in the present.

I began working in the help industry as a child, helping my Uncle when he started and ran a day shelter for the homeless in Denver, called The St. Francis Center (which is still operating to this day).

Through this experience, I was exposed to all sorts of people and saw the struggle of what it was to live with mental illness and have little support. Being able to provide a place for people to go and find community, take showers, get coffee, play board games and more- showed me the importance of community and empathy for those who suffer.

I always knew I would end up in this field from that time on. I spent time in high school volunteering to counsel others via Alateen conferences and group work for teens with a therapist in private practice. I found the connections made in therapeutic, safe, confidential group and individual settings to be invaluable for a person to grow and change.

Currently, I truly enjoy the authentic connection that arrives, after trust and rapport have been established, between my clients and me. From this safe foundation, the work is able to begin and the growth I observe is phenomenal. There is nothing better than to see a client work hard at shifting how they are perceiving and relating with their past and present.

I hope to be able to provide even more services, such as groups, when my practice allows.

To me, authentic connection and community is what makes life most meaningful.
