Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Clients will call or receive a phone call to schedule, work out fee's, convey general information about what they'd like to address by coming in and get any other questions answered. All intake documents are signed with electronic signature online, no printing required. Clients will get contact info for their therapist and may call, text or email to reschedule, cancel or any other question they may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our therapists have either completed their Masters or Doctorate degree or are working on them in the fields of Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling or Clinical Social Work. Every staff member also receives additional weekly trainings to keep them above the curve in the field.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Cost for seeing a Trainee - $40/session
Cost for seeing an Associate (formerly known as Intern) - $80/session
Cost for seeing a Licensed Therapist - $120/session
How did you get started in this business?
All of our clinicians got started in the field for various reasons but the underlying common denominator is a sense of wanting to help people after being able to persevere through struggles themselves and coming out as stronger people.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with a very diverse group of clients that have come from many backgrounds and with very different needs and struggles.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask yourself honestly, "do I feel like this person can help me/us" In the field of therapy there can be too much emphasis placed upon the method of treatment and not on the reality and relationship of treatment. The clinician and the relationship of the client/clinician is the healing component in the room, not the theory.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How committed to your goals (whatever they may be) are you? Therapy is not a short term fix, it takes long term commitment. Be willing to work on the more attainable solutions first that lead up to the larger problems. The big glaring problems are likely more than you're capable of contending with at present, otherwise you probably would have found success already. Be patient, be open-minded and open to suggestion, be willing to commit to a scheduled meeting time so that you can get into a new routine that creates space for the solutions you're looking for. Lastly, therapy often makes things harder before they get easier, make sure you are prepared for that.
