How did you get started in this business?
I worked for 10 years at the VA medical center in Palo Alto on the in-patient adult psych units for Foothill community college.
I taught for 10 years as a graduate professor and supervisor for graduate therapy students getting their MFT and ATR masters degrees in the Bay Area.
I later worked with dual diagnosis teen patients for 3 years in the Bay Area.
Also taught for 4 years at CSUS in the MFT and ATR graduate program.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with clients from ages 2-90 years of age with a wide variety of diagnoses.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I encourage my clients to have an idea of what they would like to work on and pay attention to how they feel with the therapist during the process.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask oneself how important getting professional help is to them
and how it could improve their life. Examine areas they have
been stuck.
