Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The massage therapist will review your health history and ask questions. Because massage can affect multiple body systems, such as the cardiovascular and nervous systems, be honest with the massage therapist about your health. You should also let the therapist know about any pharmaceutical drugs or botanical medicines you are taking, because massage can enhance or reduce the effect of pharmaceutical drugs, such as blood pressure medication. Knowing your history allows a therapist to determine if there are any reasons you should avoid massage or a particular technique.
The massage therapist will ask you questions to better design a session that meets your needs and goals within the time allotted. Let the therapist know what areas of your body you would like worked on, if there are any areas to avoid, and if you have any techniques that you would like to use or avoid. If you are concerned about undressing, discuss it with the therapist, who should be able to offer you some options. Don't be afraid to discuss any apprehensions or concerns. All information you give is confidential.
The therapist will outline what will happen in the session and then leave the room so you can undress to your comfort level.
When you are ready, lie down on the massage table and cover yourself with the sheet or other draping on the table. The therapist will knock before re-entering.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Top student graduating from Cortiva Institute Massage Therapy, Scottsdale, AZ. Learned several different techniques: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Hot Stones, Pregnancy and Cupping. Continuing education with medi-cupping (certified), aromatherapy (certified), graston, deep tissue and trigger point.

How did you get started in this business?
I loved getting massages, so I knew this is the field I wanted to go into to. I started by working for a start up studio as their manager. Once the studio was up and running I moved into a massage therapist position at a chiropractor office. Now I have my own business. I love helping people feel better.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients range from 14 yrs old and up. I have worked with clients from accidents, injuries, geriatric, pregnant women, special needs and others for stress relief, relaxation.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Some events I enjoy are:
Volunteer to visit people with my church group at rehabilitation centers.
Christian women's retreat.
I love to be active with my family and church and community.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to look to establish a friendship with whoever it is you will give your business to. Make sure that they are responsive to your phone calls and emails. There is nothing more frustrating then working with a contractor that you can't ever seem to reach. We realize this and work hard to ensure that you feel like our only customer. And while we realize that this is a business agreement we want to take stress and tension out of the equation and build a friendship throughout the process.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is the massage therapist licensed?
What type of massage are they looking for?
What type of pressure do they prefer?
