I have always been great with meeting new people and making them feel comfortable talking with me. I enjoy helping people to put their issues into perspective, and helping them work through any challenges in their life. Though this is my first year working professionally, I have volunteered for years with children and underprivileged adults. I have a master's degree in Forensic Psychology.
I truly and genuinely enjoy helping people. When I have a client with a tough challenge that is able to use my guidance and start seeing some improvement, I am thrilled. I have always had a knack for talking to people for a short while, and having clear insight into their personality, perspective, and concerns. I use this unique ability to help people I meet with any issues they are having or relationship troubles. I care about people, and I believe that most people can improve their own circumstances - they just might need a little bit of guidance to get there.
I never thought talking on the phone would help me. I thought therapy was something you did in person. I decided to give Kristi a try, and she was amazing. She helped me understand my wife's point of view and how my choices were affecting our relationship. Her advice reinvigorated my marriage. I honestly think we would have divorced if I hadn't called.
Kristi answered my request immediately and set up an appointment right away. I felt at ease from our first conversation. I really felt connected to her, and she really heard and understood where I was coming from. I think this is her calling. She managed to open my mind and help me reevaluate everything that was going wrong, and get back on track and be more positive.
She has helped me a ton. I was withdrawn from my marriage due to stress and depression. Really, I was confused about my life direction and didn't know where to go with my life. Kristi listened and helped me find my passion, and also helped me communication better with my wife. She really can help with any issue. She's a great listener with amazing insight. She saved my life.
Kristi really helped me get back on track. I was frustrated and angry with my life. I had recently suffered a loss, I was dealing with body image issues, and everything seemed to be spiraling. Kristi helped me through it all and made me comfortable with the process. It doesn't feel like I'm talking to a counselor - she feels like my friend.
With a new customer, I'd like to establish a little bit of history and learn about your life, in order to gain some understanding of where you are coming from. Then I'd like to explore exactly what challenges you are facing, and help you to work out what the best possible solutions may be for your life goals.
I do tend to have a unique and realistic outlook on life. Having experienced many difficult situations and relationships myself, I try to set achievable goals and expectations when I am handling a new challenge. I also understand the realities of life - life is hard and messy, and very often, not fun. There are ways to successfully improve your outlook and your ability to handle stressful experiences.
I have a master's degree in forensic psychology. This degree has exposed me to the process of counseling and helped establish a solid background in how the mind works, but also provided me with a great understanding of possibly detrimental behaviors and disorders, and how to address those behaviors to make a positive change.
My standard pricing is $25 for a 30 minute session of counseling.
My first job as a teenager was as an assistant to the volunteer coordinator at a teen crisis intervention shelter. I fell in love with the counseling environment and saw firsthand the staff's ability to assist teenagers and families with any crisis that would arise. I still believe that one of the most amazing things one can do is help other people, and I have noticed that I have an ability to relate well to others, making it easier for me to help them with their personal challenges.
I have worked with counseling all types of clients from stress management and crisis intervention to basic life guidance.
When looking to hire a professional, I suggest requesting a meeting with potential counselors or therapists and/or asking any questions you find pertinent. Counseling and therapy rely so much on trust and a positive relationship between both parties, and without that, the services will not be successful.
Before talking to a pro, I suggest thinking about your challenges and goals. If you have a desired outcome that you are working toward, it may make your process easier. If you need advice or crisis counseling, simply consider which area of expertise will best suit your situation, and be sure to find the right fit in a counselor. Counseling is about your journey, and you need to be sure to find the right person yo wall beside you on your path, guiding you and helping you to find the best way to manage your situation.
