About
I use attachment theory which overcomes four obstacles to progress, including shame, blame, guilt and anger.
I really like when clients realize that their problems aren't their fault which gives them hope that positive change will follow.

How did you get started in this business?
I like people. I decided very young that I wanted to help people. I was intuitive and sensitive. I knew I needed to work hard to earn the required degrees and obtain the skills to compliment my natural abilities. I have worked with people from all walks of life and love to see people grow and become resilient.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with individuals, couples, secular people, Christian people, and the rainbow community. Adults, teens and tweens. Nurses and caregivers. Older adults. Sensitive people. People who grew up in chaotic environments or in environments where feelings were not expressed.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Before the parks were closed, I took my dogs out and walked along the beach. It was a clear day and the sun was so beautiful. The breeze was crisp. I was happy I took the time to take in that scene.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to notice if the counselor is genuine. I would have them ask themselves some questions. Does the counselor care about what I need? Do they have expertise in this area? How do they work with people? Is the counselor able to work via video if I cannot come in? What is my gut feeling about this counselor?
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do I have specific goals or am I looking for direction? Am I ready for and committed to change? Are the fees within my budget?
