Active body. Open mind. Fresh perspective. Peaceful heart.
My name is Michelle, I'm an ecotherapist based in Seattle.
Ecotherapy. That's a little different, right? I started my practice as a super traditional therapist with a super traditional office, but that just... wasn't quite right. I was missing something; my clients were missing something.
Fast forward through some experimentation, and bingo... ecotherapy. In these sessions we'll trade the walls of a standard session and hit the pavement for walk around Greenlake.
Walk & Talk therapy is different, yes. And it's awesome.
Our brain works differently while we're in motion than it does while we're sitting still. In turn, clients are able to move through their issues and curiosities in a less linear, more productive way. The gears (and body) get moving, and we follow where they lead. My clients are often surprised how quickly things shift and clarify.
Movement was the piece that was missing in my early years. It's a little different, but it's *really* good.
I offer sessions weekly for up to 6 weeks. If additional support is needed at the end of our 6 weeks together, I can work with you to find a longer term therapist. Grief and trauma therapy are not appropriate for the Walk & Talk modality. Should we find that you would be better suited for a more traditional setting, I am happy to help refer.
I do not accept insurance as I do not diagnose any of my clients.
I can be reached via call or text at 419-615-9010 for any questions, or to arrange our first appointment.
This work is fun. It's meaningful and important... and also fun. The casual enivornment allows us to connect and interact with your stories in a *real life* kind of way. The content that we work with will be hard enough... let's let the environment and structure be a little easier.
