About this pro

I have been counseling individuals, couples and groups for 25 years, addressing content ranging from depression to communication issues, anxiety to work-life balance.  I have a transpersonal/relational approach:  I believe and know that you already possess the wisdom to heal.  You need a safe space and witness; and someone who can "hear" the unspoken spaces between the lines of your words, to help reflect back to you the wisdom you already embody, to be everything you ever wished for.  In my non-judmental approach you are safe to discover your deepest healing, within.  I have engaged in personal self-development practices for 30 years.  The combination of my personal wisdom/being and psychological education/knowledge creates an environment for my clients to be held and heard from a deeply profound place.  The sessions are meant to spark life and insight, and significant, positive change happens in each of my client's lives.

I have always thrived on the interactions humans can engage in, which enrich both sides.  Inevitably, when I work with clients, I come with an open curiousity and understanding that we will both grow from our shared time together.  What often happens in a session is as much a surprise and grace to me as it is to my clients.  That's where things feel magical.  We come to a shared moment together, where we both know something remarkable is happening.  It is happening to me, too. I grow by giving my highest Self to you.  It is the greatest privilege to know my clients, to witness their amazing growth and transformations.  I am continually inspired by the incredible courage my clients show up with.

Cheryl is so easy to talk to, she made me feel very comfortable. It was simple to open up with her and share my deepest fears and experiences that I would not necessarily want to share with others. She was able to work very well with me and it has made a huge difference in my life.

During life's challenges like right now when uncertainty and confusion are more part of our daily lives than we would like or, when faced with depression, and questions loom about how to manage in difficult times, Cheryl is one of the most trusted counseling professionals I know that can help guide you through the chaos of what we encounter. Cheryl works with individuals and couples helping them to move into a better place in their lives, be it due to trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and much more. It's unnerving and upsetting to be challenged by the curve balls of life. But for those that are struggling, having someone like Cheryl to really listen, provide insight and real resources of connection you couldn't ask for a better professional for guidance. Cheryl is a wealth of wisdom and knowledge and knows how to help clients move into a healing experience. In addition, she has provided excellent services to couples that find themselves in a surrogacy situation. Explaining details, how it works, she is expert in helping couples mitigate all aspects of journeying through this experience. Cheryl is dedicated, caring, knowledgeable, respectful and professional in her approach to any of person looking for help in difficult times. I wouldn't hesitate to call on her.

One of the things that stands out for me is that Cheryl has listening fine-tuned. I feel heard when I talk with her. She has a way of embracing you even if it's not in person. I'm kind of scared right now, I feel disconnected from my husband and everyone. With Cheryl I feel safe and non-judged. I feel respected and honored right where I am, even if I am freaking out she has a way of helping me get down off the ceiling and find ways to reconnect. She has given me tools (shall I say?), or really, methods, to help me slow down and feel in control. I'm so very grateful to her, I will always come back to her and would highly recommend her to others that are in need. Don't hesitate Cheryl is a beautiful professional and cares deeply about our situation. She is really a gift.

Cheryl's expertise in the field combined with your unique ability to empathize and gently guide make her one of the most sought after balances in an otherwise unsettled time in our lives. We just loved working with her!

How did you get started in this business?

My joy and passion has always been to have a deep level of conversation with family and friends.  I naturally gravitated toward psychology as I grew up, which for me is about knowing our true Selves, and the Selves of others.  In my 20's, I belonged to a non-denominational church and became a Minister.  I focussed on counseling individuals and groups in the role.  This led to my desire to return to school for a Master's in Transpersonal Counseling - Psychology. From there, I opened my counseling beyond the church to the general public.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with men and women, children, group therapy, couples.  Common themes we have addressed are anxiety, life purpose, infertility, depression, grief, loss, spiritual crisis, sexual abuse, relationship challenges, divorce, life after divorce, raising children in the modern world, and self-discovery/self-actualization.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

In the past five years I have worked with many intended parents facing infertility and trying to build their families via non-traditional means such as adoption, egg donation and surrogacy.  Recently I was in a yoga class that was focusing on the heart and I had the realization that the time is right to re-expand my counseling practice to include anyone who is dealing with challenges in their lives and is seeking a counselor.  I felt that my heart actually sent that message to me, that it is my calling and someone is calling.  If it's you, please don't hesitate to reach out.  I am here.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

I would suggest that you ask the prospective counselor if you can have a free phone call consultation.  I think it is important to feel a sense of connection and you can intuit a lot from a 15 minute call.  If the feeling of safety and being "heard" isn't there then move on.  Trust that there is someone right for you but it's a bit like a treasure hunt and you may need to peek under a few stones to find him/her.
