About

Hello! Thank you for considering me as your therapist! I have extensive experience working with individuals experiencing the grief cycle through helping them to navigate the daily processes of life which can become far more difficult after a loss. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and utilize Forward Facing Trauma Therapy and/or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy where appropriate. These approaches together focuses directly on helping you to identify negative thoughts in a relaxed body while learning how to mitigate these effects on your feelings and actions.

Additionally, I have over 15 years experience working with adolescents and young adults while helping them to cope with the challenges they face through life transitions; the physical and social changes, as well as general life stress. I also have had the opportunity to work with the 60+ population and have helped many Clients face the challenges of aging.

I look forward to meeting you and tailoring your counseling sessions to meet your needs while achieving your goals! Now accepting new Clients. Schedule your appointment online at www.mindhealthcenter.net or call the number above.

    Frequently asked questions

I believe that each new Client deserves a thorough assessment including a discussion about their goals for therapy and a realistic discussion about the therapeutic process. Each Client should be given the opportunity to tailor their treatment to meet their needs, and deserves the right to give their therapist performance feedback so that the Clinician can more accurately tailor the method of therapy to the Client.

I have a a Masters in Clinical Social Work and over 5 years working as a Clinical Social Worker in both community and private agecies.

I work with Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Optum (United Healthcare) and I am happy to research your insurance before you come for your first session. I also accept self pay on a sliding scale and my advertised rate is $110, but this will be adjusted based on need.

I have always wanted to help others and found that Social Work was a great way to do this.  I began working with children in an in-home agency and quickly moved to working with Senior Citizens.

All people ages 12-125.  I work with all genders, races, ethnicities. and gender orientations.

One of the greatest events that occurred recently was the Community Thanksgiving Feast.  This is an example of people working across all societal barriers to provide love and support to their fellow community members.

It is most important to make sure the therapist you choose is a good fit for you. Do not be afraid to ask questions to get a real sense of your therapist.

I believe it is important for a Client to be accurate and truthful in relaying information to their therapist as Clients can expend a great deal of personal time and effort and therapy can only be effective if a Client is open and honest.  The most important question for Clients to ask themselves is if they are ready for therapy and can make the commitment. A good therapist will help a Client explore their issues, but a Client must be self motivated to change for any change to occur.
