Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Establishing a positive working relationship with Client by allowing he/she talk about self before diving into needs (unless Client chooses otherwise).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters degree in Counseling Psychology with additional emphasis on marriage and family counseling. Significant additional education in areas of youth development, substance abuse, chronic pain, grief, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Standard pricing is $50 per session. I do not take insurance, as I attempt to keep my self-pay prices within co-pay amounts to avoid the necessity of diagnostic criteria required by insurance. A sliding scale may be available.
How did you get started in this business?
After working for numerous agencies and their expected methods for working with clients, I prefer to individualize methods for each client. I also wanted to provide quality services at reasonable prices to reach many people whose finances prevent them from getting the help they need. I got into this profession to help people without the expectation of a high salary. My passion is for helping people vs money.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with adolescents (in person), those suffering from depression, stress, anxiety, panic disorders, grief, post-divorce, family communication issues, parents with child behavior problems, anger management, those experiencing chronic pain, trauma survivors, Veteran’s issues, those experiencing work/life imbalance, and counseling with a Christian/Spiritual perspective as desired.
