About

Tiffanie Wilson is the owner and currently only provider at Voyager Health Services. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2010. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Advanced Human Behavior from Capella University and hopes to graduate in 2019.

Tiffanie is known for a humorous, relaxed, and reality based approach to therapy. She considers herself an Integrative Psychotherapist and very deliberately chooses specific approaches from a variety of disciplines to help her clients. Her approach is firmly based in respect for her clients and works with the knowledge that they are the expert of their own lives. Colleagues have called her approach bold, unique, and assertive to which she would definitely agree. She has worked with a wide variety of clients, including those who practice alternative lifestyles and non-mainstream religions. She is also a proud supporter of the LGBTQIA community. Her experience includes inpatient psychiatric hospital, inpatient and outpatient drug/alcohol rehabilitation centers, women’s centers, and working with recently homeless women. Tiffanie is a lifetime member of the Texas Council on Family Violence and has volunteered over the years with various organizations including the Montgomery County Women’s Center and the San Antonio AIDS Foundation.

Tiffanie works with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, postpartum issues, creating one’s identity, resolving grief, trauma, addiction of many different kinds, other mental health issues and more. Her interests and specializations lie in working with adolescents, women, victims of trauma, those with dependency and addiction issues, LGBTQIA community members, alternative lifestyles, and non-mainstream religions. However, she is always looking to expand her knowledge of working with other cultures and issues. Some topics that her current and previous clients have brought into therapy include anxiety, stress management, identity crisis, self-esteem, self-harm, self-image, trauma, women’s issues including postpartum depression, sexual assault, childhood abuse, and addiction. Additionally, there have been a range of disorders presenting including Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Chemical Dependency, and PTSD. She conducts individual, group, couple, and family therapy as well.

When not at work Tiffanie spends her free time with her son and friends. She has a variety of interests that not only bring her joy but inform her work in therapy. She came to therapy later in life than some and had a variety of different careers before settling into counseling. While others may consider this a negative, Tiffanie considers this life experience invaluable to her work. She admits “It was a long road that brought me to becoming a therapist. It took me a very long time to discover who and what I was meant to be. But now I do. I have my dream career and I am blessed to be working with my clients!”
