About this pro

After serving for 30 years as a clergyman in a variety of churches, Dr. Peter has chosen a more progressive interfaith approach for his coaching and counseling... Previous to the ministry, he taught social sciences and was a psychotherapist, but since ministry, He no longer offers psychotherapy or mental health services in any clinical way. Instead, Peter provides any prospective client with spiritual guidance gleaned from his years as a spiritual dirctor and as a minister/priest. (PhD in Theology and Spirituality) Peter offers soul coaching using the person's spiritual and/or religious beliefs as a guideline tht assists the individual/couple/group to find their own best answers towards healing and wholeness, forgiveness, and a deeper understanding of one's own spiritual identity. He will use a variety of metaphysical theories and practices that would include meditation, astrology, hoistic health and wisdom studies from many spiritual paths. and

I also have a Linked In and an Alignable profiles that also offer an overview of his approach to helping others...

I am inspired when I am able to offer guidance that fosters growth and change in a person who is seeking a new direction for their life, greater purpose or meaning, or who is in need of healing, solace, and encouragement for all the twists and turns of life's journey.

Assisting or encouraging others to find their own best answers and to discover their own best paths for identity and spirituality can be joyful, soulful, and they often bring me an affirmation for my unique mission as a guide and helper.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Generally, I would set up a brief phone appointment or if they prefer, a short in person meeting wher I can answer any of the questions theyy might have before starting to work together...

In the case of weddings or other rites of passage, I prefer to see both people or meet with the group who will be working with me to develop andd design the ceremony so tht it will be personal and memorable...

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have had wide ranging experiences and workshops and instruction frommany spiritual and religious sources...

I hold a Masters in Education for community mental health...

My ministry training includes a Masters in Divinity and units of Clinical Pastroal education in hospital settings...

I completed education as a spiritual director/ soul friend or spiritual guide from primarly Judeo-Christian approaches that I have supplemented with Buddhist, Sufi, and some Native American education and experiences...

My Doctorate is in Theology and Spirituality, and includes studies in original texts, early church theology, and the divine feminine as found in Scriptures East and West.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

I try not to make my services unavailable or difficult for clients while still valuing my years of training and experience. Consequently, I have always offered my services along a sliding scale based on income... At this point in time, the range I use goes from $65.00 to $95.00 per session.

Weddings and rites of passage will also be offered along a range based on complexity, time, and content etc.

How did you get started in this business?

It has been a natural evolution from the parish work to focussing on the individual/couple or small group...

What types of customers have you worked with?

Over the years, I have welcomed a wide variety of seekers, searchers, questioners into my practice. I believe that people are blessed with a kind of "holy curiousity" that brings them to a point where they would like to start a dialogue or receive some guidance from their own explorations.

Any sincere person who has questions about life's purpose and meaning, anyone who has endured loss or setbacks and are seeking a more spiritual understanding, anyone seeking a larger sense of mission, freedom from attachments, or an evolutionary approach to relationships, work, health etc. are among the people I have effectively worked for many years...

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

IF the peole has not received professional training or education, its best to stay away...( includes ministers and spiritual advisers!) IF they have not been in practice for at least 5 years, it might be an indication that they do not have the depth and width of experience you might be looking for...

Any person offering guidance etc., shoul actively be aspiring to be a role model based on their own years of training, dedication and caring...

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

How willing are they to tackle or confront any questions or obstacles they might have to being able to change, grow beyond previous patterns and expectations, etc.

Importantly, will they feel safe and confident in receiving the care and counsel of this person?

That there will be a confidentiality established between the two people that will ensure trust and the ability to work together effectively...
