About

I genuinely care about my clients, listen to tension and pain issues they discuss at every appointment intake and individualize the session to focus on their problem areas. I also provide hot stone and aromatherapy massage treatments. I have been in practice since 2006, have taught classes in introduction to massage as well as running your own business as a therapist. I also am a parent educator in infant massage teaching parents how to massage their infants. My office hours run in the evenings as well as on Saturday’s and are by appointment only.

I work a full time job as a medical practice manager for two offices during the day, which is why I do not have massage office hours during the day. Many clients often ask how I do it, working a stressful day job and then working with massage clients in the evening. I tell them that working with my clients, regardless of whether it's in the evenings or weekends, gives me such renewed energy and gratification that with my help, they feel better is so rewarding! When that client gets off the table and says "I feel so much better" or "I can move my neck again" and to know that a one hour treatment has such an impact is such an amazing thing!!

Frequently asked questions

When a potential client contacts me, I follow-up either via email (if they emailed me) or call them by phone.  We set up an appointment.  When the client is seen, a comprehensive intake form is completed and I meet with the client to review their history and session goals.  I provide a summary of what will occur in the session and address any client questions they may have.  Throughout the session, I check in with the client.  At the conclusion of the session, I obtain feedback from the client and use that feedback for client education and setting up for future treatment appointments

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration as well as an Associates Degree in Applied Science for Therapeutic Massage.  I have also been a past instructor at a local college teaching Introduction to Massage as well as teaching a business class for the program.  I am very active with the Rhode Island chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association, having been an active member since 2007.  Since 2007, I have held various Board positions at the chapter ranging from Secretary, Vice President, while continuing to be Education Chair (from 2007 until today) for the continuing education committee for the chapter.
