About
I'm a psychologist with over 25 years of experience. I use a "direct approach" with patients and thus the name of my practice came to be. I work with patients to improve their self esteem, which is at the core of many symptoms. I also believe in different treatment approaches for different patients. So, one person may receive relaxation training, another CBT, another might build a behavioral hierarchy, while someone else may benefit from learning some DBT skills or using EMDR. Everyone is unique and so everyone is treated in a unique manner.
My strength is my ability to connect with patients so well that I can tell them things about themselves that no one has ever had the nerve to tell them before. They may be upset momentarily, but overall, my patients see changes rather quickly.
Although I take therapy very seriously and there are many tears shed in my office, there is also a lot of laughter. I live and believe that humor and optimism (not denial) are wonderful defense mechanisms, and I teach my patients these skills as well. Free initial consultations will be offerred to medical workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I love seeing my patients feel better.
