15 years ago I embarked on a career as a high school counselor; servicing young people aged 13-20 years old. Many of these interactions led me to work with families, caseworkers, law enforcement and the court system. I later moved to work for a private practice working with individuals and couples. I have helped people overcome stress related anxiety, relationship challenges, exploration of one's childhood and how it has impacted their current behaviors, thought patterns and decision making. The impact of covid-19 has led me to embark upon my own practice. We are all feeling so many emotions and changes in a rapid way; and everyone needs a place where they can feel safe.
As a counselor for over 15 years, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults of various backgrounds
As a helper to all my experience ranges from working with couples, individuals families and the LGBTQIA community.
It brings me joy when I have couples highly recommend me to other couples, this resonates they are confident in their outcomes and would like to extend that feeling to their peers.
To engaging in counseling is a very personal decision. When making a decision to work with someone, find someone you can trust and makes you feel as if you are being heard. These are the 1st and most important steps.
Before one embarks upon the counseling process, they should ask themselves are they ready to peel back the many layers. Of the answer is yes, then being transparent and honest is the next step of the process.
