About
I am an experienced licenced clinical sockal worker with a Post Doctoral Fellowship from the University of Rochester, Dept. of Psychiatry in couples and Family Therapy. Private practice for ovr 35 years.I work from a position of finding strengths in individuals and have an outstanding reputation the the community. I am on all Insurance panels and EAP's, My clients come from referrals from their primary care physicians, or family and friends. I do not take people who find me in the telephone book as I have had some very quirky individuals call me.
Everything! I have met so many interesting people over my many years of practice and have learned from them at times as much as they have learned from me. I respect how difficult it is for so many people to seek outside help, tell their stories and share their fears and upsets with a stranger in whom they place their trust. I feel priviledged to have a long and successful career in my chosen field and am lucky that I look forward to going to my work every single day!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every person is an individual so there is no one pattern or process I use. I start by taking a history, getting to know the individual and having them get to know me. I also ask what the individual wants to get out of treatment and if they are not sure, I ask them to think about it. This is important so that we can both be on the same page in dealing with issues.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, Following graduation I was offered a one year Post Doctoral Fellowship in the Dept. of Psychiary at Strong Memorial Hospital. I worked in the Dept. of Psychiatry for 13 years and during this time supervized Psychiatry Residents, Master level nursing students and Psychology students. I also taught Family Therapy to these same groups. I had training in the Child and Adolescdent Clinic and very much enjoy working with children and teenagers. I have continually kept up with the field of alcoholism as this is often why a patient presents or this comes out during my initial or following intake session.
