Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, an intake appointment where we find out what brings you to therapy and what goals you have for our time together. Then, we collaborate on a plan of how to get to those goals!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a graduate degree from Indiana University of PA in Clinical Psychology, a program ranked number 2 in the country, and am a licensed mental health counselor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My prices are $40 for a 50 minute telecounseling session, and $60 for face to face sessions.
How did you get started in this business?
I started this business because I saw a need for high quality therapy that also was accessible and affordable.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Honestly: I've worked with every type of person you can think of.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Probably the last time I was out kayaking!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is "real" and who can tell you that you're working on a goal together. You don't want a counselor who wants to keep you in therapy forever, it should be time limited. If you don't feel better in 3-6 months, something isn't working!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
You should feel comfortable asking any question you want. I'd ask: have you worked with someone with my concerns before?
