Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I Do Not Accept Any Type's of Presbyterian Insurance.
First if the client is paying by insurance, I only take Blue Cross Blue Shield, Private and Medicaid, Western Skies Medicaid, Molina Private and Medicaid and United Health Care Private and Medicaid in New Mexico.
I would have to email an intake package and on the first session we would go through it together. So I would need the email address to send the intake package. During this session the client would let me know what they want to work on. The insurance companies require I have the intake done before any counseling starts.
I do not do medication. You must have a Doctor's prescription for medication.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling) license. I have a Master's Degree in Behavioral Studies in Counseling Psychology. I was trained in Cognitive Behavior Counseling, Behavior Counseling and how to retrain the brain to think about things. I am also certified as a Hypnotherapist.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I Do Not Take Any Types of Presbyterian Insurance.
I will bill your insurance for your sessions unless your insurance requires that you do it.
I take Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicaid, Western Skies Medicaid, Native American Medicaid, because there is no co-pay.
I also take Blue Cross Blue Shield Private Insurance, Molina Private Insurance or Medicaid and United Health Care Private Insurance or Medicaid, but they may have a co-pay.
If you have a private insurance the client would have to pay the co-pay, before each session. If you are paying cash for the sessions, that would have to be paid first.
If you pay by cash you will have to have the money up front. No credit cards at this time.
Please check with your insurance if they cover Mental Health Counseling before setting your first session. They will require you to call and have them approve me as your counselor before they will cover the counseling.
How did you get started in this business?
I started my private practice in 2004. I have been in private practice since then. I see clients in my home office and on the computer through telemedical services. (Doxy.me)
The client would have to have a computer/phone with internet service to do the counseling thru Doxy.me
What types of customers have you worked with?
I mainly work with Children and Adolescents. I also do Family and Adult counseling depending on what services the client needs. I mainly work with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Adjustment Disorders, Stress, Family and Behavior issues at school, work and home.
I also work with Native American's with Traditional Native American Counseling.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you are looking for a Cogitive Behavioral Counselor make sure that they know what they are doing. There are many out there that claim that they know how to change behavior, but they do not. I get this from my clients all the time.
There is a shortage of Licensed Counselors in Behavioral Mental Health, so make sure and ask if your counselor is licensed, because many are working under someone else's license and are being supervised.
I would also ask how many years they have been working as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask yourself if you are ready to change your behavior. It is hard work and you must be committed to change or it will not happen.
Everybody in the family will have to be willing to change their behavior or counseling will not work if you are looking for family counseling.
