    Frequently asked questions

The key to understand how a clinician can help a new patient is to take a thorough history.  This will reveal not only the present concern of the patient but offers insight as to a patient's style of life, what is important to that patient and what goals can be formulated to achieve the patient's restoration toward good health.

Extensive clinical, educational, and research experience.  Please review my resume for a greater understanding. I also have 49 years in every setting and ones beyond the average physical therapist due to my intellectual and compassion to help my patients.

I never rush a patient's treatment.  I desire to help the patient in every way possible.  This also includes the opportunity for the patient to express all of their concerns, fears, goals and desires to return to a normal, safe and healthy life.  I prepare the patient with an indepth evaluation, treatment as is appropriate and offer at a minimum a doable home program that should be followed up at the next visit to allow questions or perform to advance.

Since I was a child, I only wanted to be a physician.  In 1971, after completing my masters degree at Brooklyn College suggested I consider physical therapy.  I was ignorant as to what it was.  I applied to NYU and was granted a full scholarship.  I never looked back.  However, I always challenged myself to learn and excel in patient care.  I became a pioneer in many aspects of physical therapy which always benefitted my patient's.

I have worked with patient's beginning with 0-3 years old with development issues all the way up to geriatrics.  I have worked with many different professionals such as college and professional athletes, ballet companies, track and field participants, school athletes, skiers, and many other sport involved injuries.  I worked to develop a work hardening program used today by a large corporation, made movies, wrote chapter in medical texts, was a journal reviewer of books and articles.  I became involved in many other areas and levels of rehabilitation over the decades.
