About

My name is Trina McDonald and I am a Psychotherapist offering therapy for those with mental illness and substance use disorders. I have been in the field for more than fifteen years and I have a passion for this work. I use a client-centered, strength based approach and serve those who are dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, and addictions. It is important to build a therapeutic relationship with a therapist that you trust and connect with and I always appreciate the opportunity to connect with new clients ready to work and experience change.

I enjoy being able to offer hope and assist clients to establish goals and outcomes that help them thrive mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

    Frequently asked questions

I start with a phone call to make sure we are a match and can work together and move toward the assessment when we determine that our schedules and my theory and approach are good to build a therapeutic rapport.

I earned a Masters's degree in Professional Counseling and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I also am a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. My experience has been with working at a military base with navy and marine personnel, working with those living with HIV/AIDS, and working in corrections and the private sector.

I charge the same rate for psychotherapy sessions which would be 125.00 per hour.

I felt the passion to work with individuals to help navigate them toward solving problems and decision-making during my junior high school years. I found I had the skill to listen and the patience to persevere with individuals through challenges that they were facing.

I have worked with adult men and women experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, terminal illness (HIV/AIDS), and substance use disorders.

Obtaining my own practice created a sense of accomplishment for me.

Look for a professional that will hold you accountable for moving beyond the problem and into a solution.
