About
Hello, and welcome ... My name is Shatara Sheppard, I have had a unique life that has been filled with many joys, challenges and personal struggles, which has allowed me the opportunity to experience the power and freedom of healing and personal growth. It is now my passion for helping others navigate their difficulties and transitions in life.
Using an integrative approach to therapy that includes traditional and alternative approaches that aim at releasing stored trauma from the body.
While talk therapy is effective, it is also essential to learn how your body communicates the stored trauma that it has experienced- the somatic experience. Trauma stores itself within the body's memory system. The uncomfortable feelings and emotions many experiences in the form of anxiety, panic, feelings of overwhelm, distress, depression, chronic pain, headaches, and tensions within the body are often related to stored trauma that happens when the brain is in survival mode- fight, flight, and freeze.
Cognitively reframing the memory, releasing the stored trauma from the body is a natual holistic process that allows you to move forward and reclaim the life you deserve to live.
I welcome you to schedule your free 15-minute consultation
The part of being a therapist that I enjoy the most is witnessing individuals release hurt that many have internalized, now share how they feel heard and understood. The empowerment that happens within the therapeutic relationship that develops; and the continued growth and development that I am eager and compassionate about learning to pass onto my clients for their success and healing in life.
