Breathe Again Counseling, LLC
About
When you decide to come for counseling there are often many things on your mind. I am here for you. You can share your issues, concerns, secrets, or worries and I will listen. We can work together to find the best solutions and discover better ways of coping and overcoming life's challenges. I have over 5 years experience counseling people who bring loss, disappointments, or indecision into my office. Collaboratively, we work to bring healing, happiness, and direction. You are stronger than you think and I will help you find that strength.
I love people. Since I was a young child, people would tell me I must be an old soul because I was easy to talk to. I love being present for people so they can get their burden out of them and be free. What a gift it is to serve our fellow travelers!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The client is the expert of his/her life issues or challenges. I listen and let the client tell me what he/she feels is most pressing and we begin to unpack the problem and I help the client see their strength and use it to make the changes necessary for success. I'm not a "fixer" or a "advice-giver." I am here to help the client use their own skills to make better choices.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. I have been a licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri for almost 4 years. I have been practicing since 2014. I am trained in grief counseling through Baue Funeral Homes. I have conducted grief groups and, currently have my own practice where I see individuals from 18 up.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My fee is $90 for a 55 minute session.
I take UHC, Cigna, and ComPsych insurances and EAP's.
I do offer a sliding scale for those who may have a need.
I take cash, check, or charge.
How did you get started in this business?
I love people. When I was a girl people would tell me I must be an old soul because I was easy to talk to. I feel at my best when I am able to be present with someone as they unload their burdens and set themselves free. What a gift it is to serve my fellow travelers!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with young people, college students, widows young and old, and individuals struggling with change, grief, anxiety, depression, and more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
An enjoyable way for me to take care of myself is to walk out in nature. Fresh air and a sweet dog are a perfect combination for mental healing.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When you find yourself in need of a counselor, I would suggest you find someone who listens more than they talk, avoids giving advice, and someone you feel a connection with. If you don't feel connected with your counselor, it's okay to find another. It's truly all about you and you need to feel connected to the person you choose.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
If you want to delve deep into your childhood because you feel you carry some "unfinished business" from the past, tell your counselor that. Often, we counselors think you want a more brief solution-focused approach to a current problem. It may take you back to childhood as you and your counselor start unpacking an issue, but a counselor may take your sessions in a more directed way if they are aware you're looking for a long term approach.
